Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 is finally here, and there’s no denying that the show has not lost its charm at all. The mid-season premiere of the popular TV Series didn’t let us take our eyes off the screens even for a second. While several events in Yellowstone’s new episode blew our minds, a name that was just mentioned in it by Lloyd Pierce while he was talking to Rip pushed us to think about who this person is.
Yes, you guessed it right, we are talking about Billy Klapper. So, who is he? Like me, if you are someone who gets intrigued even by the tiniest details of a TV Show or movie, scroll this page to the bottom as I delve deeper and help you find out about this person.
Who Is Billy Klapper in Yellowstone?
Billy Klapper was the famed spur maker known to be the last of spur-makers making single-piece spurs for cowboys.
In Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 9, we see Rip admiring a pair of Spurs at a local shop in Pampa, Texas. Those were the spurs made by the real-life spur-maker Billy Klapper. In Pampa, every rancher and cowboy is aware of who Billy Klapper is.
He made the first pair of spurs in 1966 when he worked as a ranch head. He was heavily influenced by another legendary spur maker, Adolph Bayers, for making “bit and spur” a career. Soon, Billy saw a significant demand for his spurs, and that’s when he decided to give up on his job and make spur-making a full-time thing.
His work was soon acknowledged by the entire community of ranchers and cowboys globally. The one who started spur-making from a small workshop in Pampa soon developed 200 spurs a year, along with 680 patterns of custom spur designs.
