In an ever-expanding galaxy far away, there is always a new story to tell in the Star Wars universe. This coming July, the Star Wars franchise is bringing in a new show titled‘Star Wars: Acolyte’. However, this show is not going to bring us any familiar faces since it is set in a very different time than the Star Wars Saga we know took place. Now the big question here is, what is that timeline? Where doesThe Acolytefit in the Star Wars timeline? Let’s find out.
The Acolyte Takes Place 100 Years Before The Prequel Trilogy
Star Wars: The Acolyte takes place during theHigh Republic Erawhich is known to be 100 Years before the events we saw unfold inThe Phantom Menacewhich is the first movie in theStar Wars timeline. In this series, we are going to witness the rise of the Sith Order and probably get introduced to Ajunta Pall, the first Sith Lord in the lore of Star Wars. If we look at the new trailer for The Acolyte, there is a scene where a character states, “Peace Is a lie”. This sentence is the first line of the Sith code which goes like this-
“Peace is a lie, there is only passion.Through passion, I gain strength.Through strength, I gain power.Through power, I gain victory.“
Based on this slight revelation, we can say that this series could show us the live-action version of the tale of the first Sith Order declaring war on the Jedi Order during the Hundred-Year Darkness.
As mentioned above, Star Wars: The Acolyte is set during the High Republic Era. This time was a hundred years before the setting ofStar Wars: The Phantom Menace, the first movie in the prequel trilogy. The trailer for Star Wars:The Acolyteshowed us Master Sol investigating Jedi murders which seem to be carried out by Mae, Master Sol’s former student. Along with this, something dark and ominous is rising in the galaxy which is revealed to be aSith Lordwhose identity has not been revealed yet.
