From the easiest Yellow category to the hardest Purple one, the NYT Connections game can quickly get difficult if you’re unprepared. However, my experience with the Blue category today, too, showed me that things can indeed become easy.

I’ll be honest when I say today’s NYT Connections hints were something I needed myself. From the Yellow category itself, I faced immense difficulty. Nonetheless, I could equate a few words together to it. Things became easier when I realized Chum and Fly go together to get the Green category. I then consulted a colleague who’s into sports to figure out the Blue category.

Thankfully, there were only four words left. I got them together to get the Purple category and the NYT Connections answers for December 7.

Even today’s Connections bot agreed that the puzzle was ‘exceptionally tricky.’ Yet, I am happy it rated me a65 out of an NYT Avg 66when it came to solving it.
