Hey Strands fam! You’ll most likely love the Strands today, for it’s a good mix of challenge and fun served on the rocks. If you can’t figure the theme out, take a look at the hints and answers for the May 24 NYT Strands that I’ve listed right below!

As revealed by the New York Times, the theme for today’s Strands is“Raise a glass”.

Every Strands game has that one Spangram that you need to decipher and today’s was no exception. The hint for today’s Spangram is –“Alcoholic drinks”.

If you have figured out the Spangram from the above hint, figuring out the theme words will be easy. However, I don’t want to ruin it for you. Instead, here are three theme word hints that may help you:

If you have scrolled this far, you are probably ready to see the answers. So, let’s take a look at today’s theme words in Strands:

While I did have an idea about what the Strands today was about, instantly spotting MARGARITA in the top left confirmed it. Right under it, I found MOJITO. Running vertically at the top right, there was DAIQUIRI and that led me straight to finding COCKTAILS as the Spangram for the day.

On the left side of the Spangram in the middle, there was SOUR. The bottom right housed SPRITZ and GIMLET, with the latter being the only word in the round that I hadn’t heard of. I’m surprised that despite being a non-drinker of sorts, I could make it through without using any hints. Well, I guess having a fun group of friends helps.
