What is the Theme for Today’s NYT Strands?
As revealed by the New York Times, the theme for today’s Strands is“Romeo and Juliet”.
I don’t think there’s anyone out there who’s not familiar with the legendary tale of Romeo and Juliet. But, is today’s Strands theme literally all about it? We won’t get another clever pun to decode? You will know soon! Read on.

When it comes to Strands, there are two categories of words in the game. The Spangrams are the ones you should be targeting first since the other regular theme words fall under it directly. Every Strands game has one Spangram that you need to decipher. Think of it as the main theme of sorts.
Uncovering the Spangram as early on as possible makes completing the game easier. The hint for today’s Spangram is“Not meant to be”.
Now, if you have figured out the Spangram from the above hint, figuring out the theme words will understandably be fairly easy. However, I don’t want to ruin it for you. Instead, here are hints to 2 out of 7 theme words that may help you:

Keeping the Spangram aside, you will need to find7 theme wordsin today’s puzzle. So, it was similar tolast day’s Strands game. The highest number of theme words we have seen in Strands so far was onMarch 16.
Moreover, it was a group effort yet again, today. Gosh, I’m loving these puzzles a lot more now, for sure! Don’t worry, I’ll let you in on the fun too, soon.
Anyway, with that being said, let’s go to the next section. However, proceed only if you are ready to take a look at the theme words.
If you are still reading this, you are probably ready to see the answers. So, let’s take a look at today’s theme words in Strands:
Again, today, I was joined byAnmol(our Editor-in-Chief) andAkshay(our Content Strategist). Going by the previous games, we were looking for puns associated with the theme, for we didn’t expect it to be direct. Somehow, today’s game was.
With that in mind, didn’t take us long to find KISS. That was soon followed by making POISON out in the top right corner. Clinging to it subtly, we found LOVE. With that, we detected STARCROSSED as the Spangram for the day.
With the game completely figured out now, we found the rest of the words in quick succession. The other words were FEUD, BALCONY, TRAGEDY and TRYST. With that, we concluded our game for the day!
No hints were used for today’s game either. Gosh, group Strands solves are indeed the best! This was way too much fun and did make me want to update my guide onhow to play NYT Strandswith an important tip – play with your friends when you can.
