The Strands today had all the ingredients required to make a well-packed puzzler. Neither was the theme a dead giveaway nor were the theme words too obvious. However, if you are finding it to be rather difficult, here are some hints and answers to make the April 14 NYT Strands easier.
What is the Theme for Today’s NYT Strands?
As revealed by the New York Times, the theme for today’s Strands is“Join the club!”. The theme is rather tasteless and vague today until it’s not.

Every Strands game has that one Spangram that you need to decipher and today’s was no exception. The hint for today’s Spangram is –“Peanut butter and jelly ____”.
If you have figured out the Spangram from the above hint, figuring out the theme words will be easy. However, I don’t want to ruin it for you. Instead, here are two theme word hints that may help you:

If you have scrolled this far, you are probably ready to see the answers. So, let’s take a look at today’s theme words in Strands:
The theme made me think of books, theatre, and chess clubs right off the bat. But, when I randomly found TOMATO, I knew I wasn’t on the right track. Then, running from edge to edge at the top, I found LETTUCE and knew the theme was aboutclubsandwiches today. I found SANDWICH as the left-to-right Spangram right after.
In the middle, I found PICKLE, and on its right was TURKEY. While on its left, I found BACON. Then, in the last couple of grids, I found MAYONNAISE. That concluded my game for the day, and gosh, am I hungry. Didn’t have to use a hint at least, which is always good.
