Minecraft 1.20.5 is a minor update that will add a couple of fairly exciting new features to the game. The pre-releases for the update were launched back-to-back these past couple of weeks, and the first release candidate arrived last week. Minecraft 1.20.5 Confirmed Features
For those confused,Minecraft 1.21and 1.20.5 are not the same update. The updatereleased todayis a smaller update that contains a number of new features. The 1.21 update’s release date hasn’t been announced yet, but it is suspected to be somewhere in June. The brand new features coming to the game with the 1.20.5 update are:
So as you can see, the 1.20.5 update mainly adds the armadillo and wolf content, as well as lots of welcome bug fixes. Though we initially assumed armadillo and its related content to arrive in the Minecraft 1.21 update, it’s coming sooner. Moreover, this will be the first Java version of Minecraft that requires a 64-bit operating system.
The release of the 1.20.5 update has also brought changes to the Minecraft Launcher. It’s possible to enable the HomePage settings toturn the “News” tab into the “Home” tab. All the important buttons and announcements will be displayed here, from the quick launch buttons to the news feed.
