Kraven The Hunter Cast Members and Characters
Dec. 3, 2024After Venom 3, Kraven The Hunter is going to be the next release from Sony’s Spider-Man universe. Even though we do not have any confirmation for Andrew Garfield’s return in the role of Spider-Man, his nemesis, Kraven The Hunter has found his way to our screens. When the first teaser was released, people grew extremely skeptical because the editing had some flaws. However, when the final trailer was released, everything completely turned around. Now the trailer looks as good as it gets. So, with that being said, let’s take a look at the complete cast and characters of Kraven The Hunter!
1. Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Sergei Kravinoff/Kraven The Hunter
Aaron Taylor-Johnson will appear as the protagonist Sergei Kravinoff, who will become Kraven The Hunter. Kraven is one of the most lovedSpider-Man villainswho made his first appearance inAmazing Spider-Man (1963) #15almost two years after Spider-Man made his comic debut. Kraven The Hunter was also a founding member of the Sinister Six in canon Marvel comics.
Taylor-Johnson has his share of experience in appearing in superhero movies. He played Quicksilver inAvengers: Age of Ultronand also appeared as Dave Lizewski inKick-AssandKick-Ass2.You can also watch him play important roles in blockbuster movies likeBullet Train,Godzilla, andNocturnal Animals.
Technically also the protagonist, Levi Miller appears in Kraven The Hunter as a young Sergei Kravinoff. He will probably appear mostly in flashback sequences. His character is rather instrumental since we will get to see how Kraven The Hunter got his powers. However, in the movie, his origin story is linked to being bitten by a tiger but this was not the case in the comic books. Considering that he will mostly appear in flashbacks, Miller might not get a lot of screen time.
Levi Miller has worked on a fair amount of projects in his career. He took up the role of Peter Pan inPan, he also appeared in CW’sSupergirlseries as Carter Grant. Levi Miller has also appeared inAmerican ExitandJasper Jonesas a lead actor.
Appearing as Sergei’s father, Russell Crowe takes up the role of Nikolai Kravinoff. In the trailer itself, we see that he wants his son to be a great hunter and is constantly training him to be one. However, he is extremely hard on Sergei which almost got him killed by the tiger he got his powers from. As of now, we do not know how much screen time Crowe will have but since he plays an important role in shaping Kraven, he might have a decent amount of it.
Russell Crowe is recognized worldwide for his Academy Award-winning performance as General Maximus Decimus Meridius in the 2000 movie Gladiator, whose sequel,Gladiator 2was released recently. Russell Crowe has also done his share of work in superhero movies appearing as Jor-El inMan of Steeland as Zeus inThor: Love & Thunder.
Ariana DeBose will appear in the cast of Kraven The Hunter as Calypso who is also the love interest of Kraven. In Marvel comics, Calypso is a witch-like priestess who has a history of manipulating characters like Scorpion and Kraven to fight Spider-Man and to take down heroes like Daredevil. Since she is a priestess, her powers come from magic using which she can control the minds of people and can also resurrect dead people in a zombie-like state.
DeBose won an Oscar for her role inWest Side Storyand has also appeared in movies likeWestworldandHamilton.
Christopher Abbot will take up the role of The Foreigner in Kraven The Hunter. He will appear as the main villain of the movie. If we talk about the comic version of The Foreigner, he made his debut inThe Spectacular Spider-Man #116in 1986 and has worked with villains like Scorpion and Black Cat against Spider-Man.
Fred Hechinger will appear in the cast of Kraven The Hunter as Dmitri Smerdyakov AKA Chameleon. In Marvel comics, Chameleon made his debut in 1963’sThe Amazing Spider-Man #1and was also the first-ever villain to fight Spider-Man. He is also the half-brother of Kraven and is a master of disguise. As of now, we have not seen Fred’s character use his powers in the teasers for Kraven The Hunter, so it’s unclear if this movie will feature him as the villain fans are familiar with or not.
In the comics, Aleksei Sytsevich was a thug who went under an experimental procedure that gave him Rhino-like skin as well as superhuman strength. In the movie as well, it seems that they are going with the comic-accurate version of Rhino since the teaser shows us a glimpse of Aleksei’s transformation which seems to be permanent.
Alessandro Nivola is a veteran actor who has been starring in movies since the 90’s. His debut in Hollywood was with 1997’sFace/Offafter which he appeared in some of the most well-known movies such asAmerican HustleandJurassic Park III.
