Planet of the Apes franchise added a new movie to its franchise this year – Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. The movie was well-received at the global box office and earned around $235 million by the end of its second week. If you missed watching it on the big screen, you’re in luck. The movie is now headed to digital platforms. The digital release date of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes was recently unveiled.

If you are a fan of the franchise, there’s another piece of good news for you. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes streaming release in 4K UHD will arrive with an alternative cut featuring a split-screen presentation to show the movie’s unfinished CGI effects alongside the final film.

This alternative cut is titled “Inside the Lens: The Raw Cut” and it will have commentary by none other than Wes Ball, the director of the movie, editor Dan Zimmerman, and VFX supervisor Erik Winquist. The audio commentary will be optional for viewers.

Additionally, there will be 14 deleted, extended scenes and a behind-the-scenes documentary titledInside the Forbidden Zone: Making Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will head to OTT platforms soon but we don’t have a release date for it as of now.

Since Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is finally headed to digital platforms, you’ll soon be able to buy it on major retailers includingYouTube Video, Apple, Prime Video. At the time of writing, the movie is not yet available to purchase or rent from any of the platforms.

When it arrives on streaming platforms, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will be available to stream on Hulu.
