So, the first season will run for one cour, which is sort of a trend that every recent anime release has been following. For instance, the Solo Leveling anime (read Season 1 review) from A-1 Pictures also features the same episode count.
The episode count of 12 isn’t satisfying for some viewers, as most fans expect to get a lengthy season with at least 24 episodes. That being said, if the studio manages to keep up the quality throughout the season, the episode count shouldn’t be a problem. The single-cour run worked for Solo Leveling, and it could very well work for Kaiju No. 8.
Also, Kaiju No. 8 isn’t a slow-burn story, so it can very well give us a thrilling experience within 12 episodes. Let’s hope that the studio gives us the second season of Kaiju No. 8 without making us wait long.
Kaiju No. 8 follows Kafka Hibino, who transforms into one of the species he has wanted to eradicate since his childhood. While the first episode of the anime has just shownhow he turns into a monsterafter a small Kaiju forces himself down his throat, you can expect to see more twists unfolding in the further episodes.
Also, as several fans out there startedcomparing the project with the legendary Attack on Titan, we might get to see how the both anime set in different universes resemble each other.
