The Sensor is one of the tools in Wuthering Waves, like the Glider, Levitator, and Grappling hook, which can be used to track frequencies. The tool is mainly used to locate objects or people during missions and is very easy to use. The sensor is first needed in the early story mission of Wuthering Waves where the Rover decides to help Jianxin to find the missing person Zhiyuan outside of Jinzhou city.You do not need to do anything special to unlock the sensorin Wuthering Waves.

Simply, play the early story mission until you reach Jinzhou city and get the Grappling tutorial. After that, the sensor, levitator, and grappling hook will be unlocked for your character.

Using the Sensor is pretty simple. First, you need to swap the tool in the tool wheel and then use the Tool key to activate it. To select the Sensor tool, here is what you need to do:

Once you have selected the Sensor tool in Wuthering Waves, press the Tool key (“T” for PC and the button above the Normal Attack button for Mobile) near the area and you will see virtual images of the thing you are tracking appear on your screen. Follow the images to reach the next destination.
