How to Access Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC

As you prepare to once again dive into the strange lands of this brutal RPG, you must also be feeling confused. After all, FromSoftware has a habit of locking their DLCs behind certain steps. If you’re part of the 62% of players who still aren’t prepared for the DLC, you need to read this! So with that, let’s learn how to play the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.

1. Defeat General Radahn to Access the Undergrounds

The story of Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is tied closely to the story of Miquella. As such, to access the DLC, you have to reach theMoghwyn Dynasty Mausoleum. This is one of the four underground areas in Elden Ring, which you access after progressing through the game. To access this area in Elden Ring, you’ll have to defeat the boss, Radahn.

He resides at Caelid, inside the Redmane castle. Now, this has to be done after you reach Altus Plateau for the first time. After you reach the Altus Plateau, travel to Redmane Castle to experience the Festival of Radahn. Then, fight the boss to gain access to the underground area. Once you’ve defeated Radahn and the access to the underground is open, it’s time to reach the Moghwyn Palace. To reach it, you’ll have to complete Varre’s questline. You can meet him first at the First Step Site of Grace. Then, after you defeat Godrick The Grafted and visit Roundtable Hold to visit Enia, Varre moves to the Rose Church in Liurnia.

From here, you’ll be given two quests – invade other players thrice and get the blood of a slain maiden. Successfully doing both steps will give you thePureblood Knight’s Medal, which brings you to Moghwyn Palace to fight Mohg, the Lord of Blood.

Once you’ve reached the Moghwyn Palace, head southwest from where you spawn and sit at theDynasty Mausoleum Entrance Site of Grace. Then, follow the road to reach a wide area with Albunaurics standing around. Ignore them and activate the lift to get to the boss’s room.

Mogh uses a lot of fire and blood-based attacks, leading to blood build-up. Hence, use the necessary Flask of Wondrous Physick combination and damage negation talisman. Thankfully, it’s easy enough to learnhow to beat Mohgin Elden Ring.

The way ahead is almost clear! Once Mohg has been beaten, reset the area, and you’ll see Leda standing in the room, instructing you to interact withMiquella’s Cocoonin the room. Interact with it, and you’ll be transported to the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree room!
