HMD Slashes Nokia 6.1 Price in India Ahead of Nokia 6.1 Plus Launch

HMD Global hasscheduled a launch eventfor August 21 in New Delhi, where it’s expected to launch the much-awaitedNokia 6.1 Plus, the global variant of the Nokia X6. And if you need any more confirmations, it has now slashed the price of theoriginal Nokia 6.1in the country.

Nokia hasdiscounted both variants of the original modelto deplete the surmounting stocks and make way for its next offering.

As you can see in the screenshot below, the3GB variant ofNokia 6.1is now available at Rs 15,499and compared to its Rs 16,999 retail price. The higher-end 4GB variant has also received a Rs 1,500 price cut and will require you to shell out Rs 17,499 as compared to its original Rs 18,999 retail price.

The company is prepping for the launch of Nokia 6.1 Plus, which we already love since we have been using the China variant for months now.

The price drop is similar to what HMD Global did before the Nokia X6 launch in China, so rest assured, the most-anticipated notch phone of the year is coming to India on August 21. Until then, check out the specs of the Nokia 6.1 right here:

The Nokia 6.1 features a 5.5-inch Full-HD (1080×1920p) IPS LCD display, packed inside a solid aluminium body that’ll remind you of the nostalgic Nokia days. It ispowered by the Snapdragon 630 SoC, coupled with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of storage.

As for the optics, you’ve got a 16MP rear-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture and dual LED flash and an 8MP fixed-focus camera on the front. It is also part of Google’s Android One program and runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box but Android P support (currently being tested on Nokia 7 plus) is expected to roll out soon enough.
