Dune has become one of the most successful movie franchises with Dune 2 being a massive success at the Box Office. WithDune 3still to begin production, to keep the effect of this majestic franchise alive, a new series, Dune: Prophecy will be released on HBO and Max. This series is going to be set 10,000 years before what we witness in Dune and the age of Paul Atreides. This series will give us the story of how Bene Gesserit formed and rose to power in the galaxy. So, in this article, let’s talk about everything we know about this upcoming series!

What Is the Release Date of Dune Prophecy?

So far, Warner Bros has released two trailer for Dune Prophecy with one teaser and one full-length trailer. The teaser confirms that this series will be set 10,000 years before the birth of Paul Atreides. We will see how Bene Gesserit with the support of early Harkonnens took control of the galaxy and expanded their power to the extent that we have seen in the Dune movies.

Thecast of Dune Prophecyhas changed since it was first announced however, now the cast members have been locked and this series boasts quite an exquisite cast.Olivia Williamswill appear in the role ofTula Harkonnen. Tula is one of the early members of Harkonnens who murdered her husband Orry Atreides on the night of their wedding.Emily Watsonwill make an appearance as Tula’s older sisterMother Superior Valya Harkonnen. Actors like Mark Strong,  Jade Anouka, and Chris Mason will appear in the series as well.

Dune Prophecy, as mentioned before, will take place 10,000 years before the events we have witnessed in the Dune movies. The series will majorly revolve around theHarkonnen sistersand how they formed theBene Gesserit. We will also get to know how they rose to such significance that they control the entire politics going on in the human-occupied galaxy from behind the curtains.
