Let’s start with a recap of episode 2, which begins with Yhwach seeing his father in his visions, and even Ichigo saw that. The Soul Reaper is perplexed after seeing a person like Yhwach in his visions. Later, he and his peers approach Yhwach and tell him that they willnever let him succeedin his sinful acts. However, before he reaches the Soul King Palace,Yhwach seals the Soul Kingafter piercing his chest with a sword.
Then, we witness a fearsome battle between Yhwach and Ichigo. The former doesn’t hesitate to show the protagonist his place by dodging every attack he unleashes. The villain also mocks him by saying that the skillset Ichigo comes with can become a reason for his defeat.Yhwach realizes the boy’s potential, so he keeps making him feel worthless to distract him. Yhwach soon awakens his newly found powers, i.e. Almighty Eyes. After that, Ichigo can’t resist feeling helpless as the opponent’s awakening does not let him land even a single blow.
The episode also reveals why Yhwach hated Soul King all his life. We see that despite seeing the devastating fate of the Quincies, Soul King didn’t stand for them. So, now, Yhwach wants to take revenge on him and create a new world. Following this sequence, we see Ichigo discovering the condition of Soul King, so he quickly goes near his stabbed body and pulls the sword out.
