Black Myth Wukong is here and has around 100 unique bosses. Keep in mind that this excludes some of the Elite enemies that drop Spirits. Most of the bosses in Black Myth Wukong are comparatively easy to defeat. There are only a small number of truly challenging bosses and only a couple that can drive you into borderline insanity. After defeating all the bosses in Black Myth: Wukong and finishing the game by getting both endings, I am here to rank them down. So with that, here are the 10 hardest bosses in Black Myth Wukong.
Honorable Mentions:A few of the strong bosses missed out on this list, only by a small margin. So here is a small mention of them — Wandering Wight, Yellow Wind Sage, and Yellowbrow.
10. Tiger Vanguard
Tiger Vanguard is thefirst real skill check in Black Myth Wukongand one of the essential bosses in Chapter 2. He can be found in the Crouching Tiger Temple and holds one of the key items to unlock the path to the Yellow Wind Sage boss fight.
Tiger Vanguard is an extremely quick boss early on, and players who have not become used to dodging effectively will definitely struggle against him. Defeating this boss also unlocks the Rock Solid spell whichallows parrying. So with that, I begin my list.
Kang-Jin Star is one of the main bosses in Chapter 3 and she is one of thecoolest boss fights in the game. She uses fast lightning attacks that apply the Shock bane, increasing the damage taken by the player. This enemy has a complete arsenal of attacks — melee, ranged, and AoE.
She is alsovery fast-pacedand defeating her is one of the difficult challenges in Chapter 3. Defeating her frees Wukong’s trusted companion — Zhu Bajie, and also unlocks the Kang-Jin Staff weapon in the craftable menu.
Mad Tiger is the most difficult boss in Chapter 2, making the Tiger Vanguard boss fight look easy. This boss fight is locked behind the Old Rattle Drum secret quest, which can be started by defeating the Tiger’s Acolyte.
Mad Tiger features amix of fast and slow attack combos, to throw off the player’s timing while having an irregular move set that uses stones to catch the players off-guard. This fight is quite challenging, especially for Chapter 2, but pales in comparison to some of the boss fights later in the game.
Captain Lotus-Vision’s boss fight sums upeverything wrong with Pagoda Realm, which is considered the worst area in Black Myth Wukong. Although this is a side boss, defeating him is required to complete the Prisoner questline in chapter 3, which unlocks the Chu Bai Spear in the craftable menu.
This boss is quite difficult for Chapter 3, as itonly does ranged attacks while constantly teleportingaway and deals a high amount of damage. He also has a few one-shot attacks in his arsenal that can be tricky to dodge, and this boss fight is also susceptible to thelife drain mechanicof Pagoda Realm.
Scorpion Lord is one of the secret bosses in Chapter Four and can be found after progressing the Venom Daoist questline to unlock the Purple Cloud Mountains. This boss isvery aggressiveand will be constantly on your face with almost never-ending combos.
The most difficult part about this fight is hisdelayed Poison attacksthat do a ton of damage while also applying poison to the player.
Yaksha King is the second part of the Red Boy boss fight, which is the final boss of Chapter 4. After becoming Yaksha King, his attacks become very fast and irregular. He does a ton of damage while also applying the Burning bane with many of them.
The most difficult part of this boss fight is hisspinning attack which he does around 50% HP, which almost one-shots players when they fail to dodge it. This makes this chapter four final boss one of the hardest bosses in Black Myth Wukong.
Yin Tiger is one of the secret boss fights in Black Myth Wukong, which becomes accessible in Chapter 3. This fight unlocks after obtaining the Ruyi Scroll by finishing the Chen Loong questline, which also requires defeating Chen Loong, another challenging boss himself. After unlocking Ruyi Scroll, you can visit Zodiac Village where you will meet Yin Tiger and can challenge him to a fight.
Yin Tiger is an extremely challenging boss, featuringa ton of parrying abilities paired with fast teleportation attacks. He relentlessly attacks players, making it very challenging to keep up. Defeating him unlocks the Ebon Flow transformation and Iron armor set. Yin Tiger is also a blacksmith, so you can upgrade your armors here and he will also unlock a Curio slot after being defeated.
Yellow Loong is the last boss of the Loong questline, which involves defeating all the other Loong bosses before fighting him in Chapter 4.Defeating him is also required to unlock the secret ending of Black Myth: Wukong. Yellow Loong is one of the hardest fights in the game, constantly increasing his chain of attacksas his health decreases.
He also applies the Shocked Bane with almost all of his attacks, making players take twice the normal damage. This boss has a high skill requirement, and you must master all his attack patterns to defeat him in the game. Defeating Yellow Loong unlocks the Golden Lining transformation.
The Great Sage’s Broken Shell is the final boss of Black Myth Wukong and is the second part of the Stone Monkey boss fight. This boss fight has two phases, with the second phase turning the boss into prime Wukong. The Great Sage’s Broken Shell is undoubtedly thebest-choreographed boss fight in the game.
This boss can literally do every skill of Wukong, while making the player look like an absolute buffoon, making a mockery out of them with ridiculous reactive attacks, like grabbing on to a Pillar Stance heavy attack and throwing it aside, orimmobilizing the playerwhen they are trying to heal.
Erlang, the Sacred Divinity is the final secret boss in Black Myth: Wukong, and can be only unlocked by completing the Loong questline, defeating the Stone Monkey, and then returning to the Great Pagoda in Chapter 3. Successfully completing this chain of events unlocks the path to Mount Mei, where Erlang awaits.
Erlang is by far the hardest boss fight in Black Myth Wukong, having4 different phases, a massive health bar, and a shield mechanic that further diminishes damage taken by him. On top of that, theTransformation spell doesn’t workin this fight, and he can also turn the Immobilize spell towards the players.
But that’s not all as this boss has an insane chain of attack combos that continuously increases as the fight progresses, has multiple almost-one-shotting ranged attacks, shoots lasers from his eyes, and hasmultiple grab attacksas well.
You will need all your wits and skills honed to the utmost to finally defeat him. After defeating him, players enter a colossal battle against the Four Heavenly Kings and Erlang Shen. Defeating the colossal Erlang Shenunlocks the secret ending cutscene, which is triggered after defeating the Stone Monkey for the second time. This boss rewards players with the Azure Dome Transformation spell and Tri-Point Double-Edged Spear.
